P.T. (Silent Hills) win. FINALLY.

So, after three days, I finally defeated the Silent Hills playable teaser (skip ahead 4 minutes to see the actual trailer).

From Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, and starring Norman Reedus, this is probably the single most awesome thing that came out of Gamescom, even though we didn’t know it at the time. The gameplay is tense, atmospheric, extremely experimental and supremely scary.

Of course, this being a Kojima game, there is a line between “scary” and “profoundly frustrating.” Some of the puzzles presented in the demo are fairly groundbreaking, while others are just confusing, leading you to eventually start yelling at the screen: “SHUT UP SCARY LADY. SHUT UP. LAUGH BABY. PLEASE, for the LOVE of GOD, LAUGH!”

You see, in order to complete the demo, you have to get a baby to laugh twice during one of the room loops. What you don’t know is that, in order to get the stupid baby to laugh, you MUST be using a microphone. So, after scouring Gamefaqs, I dug up my PS4 mic and went to town. This is the result.

I haven’t put this much work into some full releases. This is, without a doubt, the single greatest demo I have ever played. I cannot wait to see what they come up with for the final product. Hopefully, this means Silent Hill is back in all its glory!
